Every time I leave NYC, I buy New York Magazine for the train/bus/car ride home. It’s become a little ritual and one that thoroughly engrosses me for a couple of hours or until Meredith convinces me that I really do want a hot dog from the snack car.
But enough about our train habits.
The issue on newsstands upon leaving Penn Station was the Spring Fashion issue and what really stuck with me (other than my surprise over how much Jessica Simpson makes off of her clothing line) is how closely the lingerie trends at market week, follow the ready-to-wear styles for Fall/Winter.
Lingerie’s lookin’ good for this upcoming season. And because we like to share, I’ve compiled the following overview of what you’ll be wearing underneath your clothes this Fall.
Color! And color blocking!
Favorites like Cosabella, La Fee Verte, and Zinke are showing lots of deep hues and contrast colors.
Cosabella truly does EVERY color imaginable. For the summer we’ve picked up lots of neons and for the Fall/Winter we’re stocking up on marigold, jade green, and cranberry.
Zinke Pointelle bralet with red and brown color block-esq detailing
La Fee Verte cobalt and silver sleep sets.
This Spring, Huit perfectly executed neutrals with a twist when they made their Initial bra which takes basic nude to a whole new level of sophisticated minimalism. Mimi Holliday did the same with their lacy but wearable Amour Shoulder bra in peach and silver. Both bras, have been happily received as great alternatives to plain old t-shirt bras.
We’re therefore happy to report that this neutral trend will appear again this Fall/Winter with wearable styles from Beautiful Bottoms, Eberjey, a reprise from Mimi, and a whole lot more.
New Brit line Beautiful Bottoms offers sheer silk bras in light, whimsical colors. Yes. Those are birds.
Eberjey’s Anouk bra now comes in nude! And goes up to a D cup.
La Fee Verte sets. Perfect bridal lingerie actually.
Denim inspired Blues
Taking a ride on the blue wagon this Fall are lines like La Fee Verte, Chantelle, and new-comer Between the Sheets. We’re pretty excited about the blue trend as we’ve found that it looks good on just about all skin tones.
La Fee Verte’s navy trimmed in cream (or cream trimmed with navy) rompers, robes, bralets, and tap shorts are, as always, hand made in gorgeous silks and laces. A big thank you to our LFV rep, Andrew, for being a good sport and letting us take a ton of pictures of him.
We’re pysched to start carrying Between the Sheets. This uber flattering chemise will be one of our first pieces from the line.
Chantelle, the ubiquitous French line offers their world famous Rive Gauche collection in two fashion colors each year. This Fall, we’re happy to report that “Sapphire” (with cream stitching) will be the Fall/Winter color. Pictures are forthcoming, but we wanted to give all you Rive Gauche devotees the head’s up. (Pre-order is available).
So if you’re a little nervous about facing the denim trend in a full on jumpsuit a la J Crew http://bit.ly/h2pftc, rest assured that you can tone it down by going crazy with your blues in lingerie form instead.
Meant to be seen pieces…
Sheer tops are everywhere for Fall/Winter and you’ll need beautiful bras to wear underneath all those flowy, see-through ditties…
Want a new favorite to show off?
Enter Marlies Dekkers! We’re the first store in Massachusetts to carry this line and boy are we excited to get our hands on these bad ass bras.

And we can’t wait to see the pieces that you fall in love with! xo

If you do not stock that sheer bra with the birds I will DIE. (srsly reserve a 32C for me!)
