The ones that got away…

In this business pretty things disappear fast.  Plus I wear a fairly common size and have some stiff competition for the loveliest pieces.

I win some, but I lose a few too and amongst the lost there are some that I’ve never forgotten.

So….

Summertime bras–$50 and under

Lingerie boutiques can be intimidating.   For some of us ladies on budgets, there’s always the fear of walking in, falling in love with a piece, and discovering that your new obsession costs more than your rent for the month.   Booo!

We get it.  And that’s why you’ll always find moderately priced options at Forty Winks.  Whether you need a functional piece or something that just makes you feel pretty, we want all of our customers to be able to leave with something that they love and that they didn’t have to break the bank for.

Here’s a little compilation of some of the best and least expensive bras we keep in our arsenal.

Ohh Dahling..

We don’t know about you, but ever since The Great Gatsby trailer has been (“accidentally”) leaked on youtube, we have not stopped obsessing over it.

Can ya really blame us!?  The Baz Lurhman rendition is going to be INSANE.

Do we all remember Romeo + Juliet, or Moulin Rouge, or Australia;  I mean, everything the man touches turns to visual gold.

Just as Robert Redford did in the original, Leo is going to absolutely swoon as Jay Gatsby.  And if Mia Farrow’s Daisy simply cannot live forever, Carey is the perfect replacement for our darling heroine.

Le Sigh.

There may be one more reason why Winks can’t stop watching…

Ya see, there’s a little rumor going around the lingerie blog-o-sphere stating that our designer crush, Ari Dein may have a couple of their very own 1920′s inspired beauties in the film.

(you remember Ari Dein;  handmade in NY, luxury silks, ultra glamorous <3)

Now we don’t know for sure if the pieces will make the cut, but for now, we will be glued to our screens drooling over every scene of that trailer with crossed fingers.

You’ll know where to find us.

Feast Your Eyes Upon This

Since becoming the honorary Pinterest Queen here at FW, I have turned a pinning hobby, into a habit.  I CANNOT stop pinning!

And thanks to the likes of some inspired co-pinners, some fabulous lingerie bloggers and the designers of the very lingerie we covet,  I have had the luxury of peeping some SERIOUS eye candy.

Here are a couple of my favorite images to ogle..

Gorgeous vintage picture of handmade corsets, stunning!

I really love my…

Zinke Scout Reversible Bralet, $78.

I recently took this little beauty home with me.

Having pretty small breasts, I was a little worried about how it would work but as it turn out the style is perfect.  I love the double layer of fabric as  it gives me more shape than most bralets.

The vibrant colors and delicate band are so pretty that you wont mind if this bra is seen a little bit, it’s perfect for all the see-through shirts this season. I’m currently loving the orchid colored side under white tees and tanks. The color is close enough to nude and light pink, so it’s a perfectly subtle way to spice up a look without going crazy with the color trend.

Another reason to love the Scout?

This bra is incredibly comfortable, especially in the hot weather…almost felt like I’m not wearing anything at all.
