We welcome Simone Perele’s Celeste collection to our racks this Fall.
“Women do not need to choose between elegance and comfort”
-Madame Simone Perele
We couldn’t agree more.
Fall is in the air!
The crisp weather is just another sign that everyone’s favorite season is right around the corner. On top of the usual fun, Fall outdoor activities that we New Englanders love to partake in , one of my long awaited things to do is to read all of the new September issues. It always reminds me of what I’ve been missing all Summer.
InStyle’s 638 page novel (!!!!) took me a little longer to get through this month. I’m finally finished with it and I can tell you that I was just beaming when I saw the Peep Show lingerie spread they laid out.
I was so proud to see some of our very own items represented over the four page spread!
Take a look at some of the stunners you can find right on the racks here at FW.
The InStyle choice was Zinke’s Bright Light Set in Lake and Spice, and while we love this pairing too, we’re stock the cotton On The Road Again set in Gravel and Spice.
It’s just as pretty a combo and we know our customers love their cotton
And here is just a sneak peek at what is soon to come from Felina….
Felina Maxine Unlined Balconette $39 and Gabriella Garter Skirt w/ Thong $36
They also showcased a few of our favorite standbys here at Winks like Chantelle, Huit, Eberjey, and even some newcomers like Beautiful Bottoms which we’ll start carrying this Fall.
It was a wild summer here at Forty Winks.
Along with our day-to-day duties, there was an engagement (Rachel) , a house purchase (Meredith), buying trips to NYC, weddings, babies, birthdays, family reunions…you name it, this Summer brought it.
And while these happenings were happy, exciting and GOOD, a little bit of exhaustion crept in and it become glaringly obvious that we needed a real, live weekend away.
So we packed up two cute boys, two even cuter dogs, a bunch of food/beer/wine and headed for Vinalhaven, ME.
With absolutely no cell phone service (iPhone, you can’t haunt us here!) and Atlantic on all sides (yeah, it’s an island) Meredith and I were actually able to relax. One morning I read on the deck for two hours. TWO HOURS!
Never without lingerie on our brains, we started comparing the colors we were finding on our walks along the gorgeous shoreline with some of the pieces at Forty Winks right now. Meredith, our resident photographer, was able to beautifully capture the subtle similarities between the colors and textures of the Maine coast with the stunning lingerie on our racks for Fall.
Clo Intimo Fortuna Underwire Bra, in Nude, $52.
Zinke Tulsa Bralet, in Lilac, $68.
Zinke Bright Lights Panty, in Lilac, $64.
Elle Macpherson Intimates Dentelle Contour Bra, in Jet/Green, $64.
Chantelle Rive Gauche Shorty, in Sapphire, $34.
Many of us have lingerie ensembles from past special occasions that we’d like to wear again (you put enough thought into these things right?) but worry that the newness wore off at first glance.
Now I think it’s safe to assure you that your Sig O probably doesn’t care about repeat performances. Your lovey is probably just happy to see you in whatever get up you’ve got going on…but we understand that in order to really get into these types of things, you may in fact need a new little something added to your outfit.
So I’m happy to report that our new accessories from Maison Close are just the added touch of newness you need to revitalize those sexy-time outfits.
Le Petit Secret Les Suspenders ($18) are finally back in stock. A best seller last V-day, these simple, elasticized strips of velvet feature a single garter hook for a look that’s all strappy and sexy without the added bulk of a garter belt.
The Salon Bourbon Bow Tie ($30) is our newest little-something-extra.The coquettish, silky black bow slips over your head and adjusts to neck size. Try adding it to any bedroom outfit for a look that’s somehow both coyly understated and over-the-top sexy.
God I love an opaque thigh high stocking…
