After a successful Gift Show (cutest candles I’ve ever seen!), we’re gearing up for an even bigger buying extravaganza!  Starting Sunday, Meredith and I will be in NYC at Curve (for Lingerie) and Coterie (for everything else) doing all the ordering for the Fall/Winter season.

Now, we’re not trying to rush Summer or anything, but just keep in mind that you can look forward to some beautiful pieces in September.  Expect  the softest Cashmere we can possibly find,  beautiful Holiday lingerie sets, and all sorts of perfect basics to make you feel pretty underneath all the layers you’ll be wearing come November.

Expect pictures of us enjoying NYC too!

Throughout all the ups and downs of opening Forty Winks, Meredith and I have always looked forward to the excitement of  placing our very first orders. It was always sort of the final piece in the puzzle, like when we placed our orders, Forty Winks would really and truly be happening.

This being said, ordering hundreds of pieces of lingerie in a plethora of sizes, colors, and styles, without going wayyyyy over budget is a rather daunting, some may say stressful, process. Imagine our delight when we realized, as timing would have it, that we’d be writing most of our orders while on vacation!  Tackling this project from sunny Turks and Caicos is a lot less scary than writing them from my cramped Beacon Hill apartment!

We happily sat on beach chairs and poured over the softest jersey from Eberjey, the hottest bathing suits from Huit, and the most beautiful yet practical basics from Chantelle.   We ordered only the prettiest things for you, our dear customers, keeping in mind everyone’s shapes, sizes, and needs.  We know you’ll be happy and that’s what we want!

Thank you all for your continued support and for nourishing our excitement for Forty Winks even in the face of many disappointments.  Meredith and I could not have gone through this process without our friends and family.  We consider ourselves very lucky.
